Work-in-Process Packaging Explained
Transit returnable packaging (shipping back and forth between different locations), is particularly suited to any closed logistics network. Meaning, as soon as a regular circuit between a shipment location and a delivery location is identified, returnable packaging enables a considerable reduction in expenditure and an improvement in short or medium-term profitability. This type of packaging can also be referred to as "over-the-road" packaging. Transporting products in returnable packaging anywhere from one mile to 2000+ miles. We are going to cover another type of packaging used internally called work-in-process (WIP) packaging for moving parts within a facility from point A to point B. Below are some important points regarding WIP and some examples of the packaging we designed that our customers are currently using for this type of application.

Five Solutions for Product Protection
When a client reaches out, they have a product they need to protect. It is our job to ensure that this happens effectively and efficiently. In designing a returnable package for a customer, there are many factors that come into play. Our project managers need to take things like the weight of the part, whether the part has class A surfaces, how long the returnable packaging program is expected to be in place, and what the application will be. When we talk about applications, we are referring to how returnable packaging will be utilized. Will it be used in a WIP (work in process) application or will the pack be in transit packed on a truck for shipment?
